Bio – Manuel Salerno Abad

Consul General of Panama in Houston

Hon. Manuel Salerno was Born in Panama on December 21, 1955. He was appointed Consul General of the Consulate of Panama in Houston, Texas, in October 2024.

He completed his studies at the National University of Panama, earning a degree in International Relations. He also graduated from the Universidad Santa María la Antigua of Panama (USMA) with a degree in Law and Political Science, and later obtained a master’s degree in Maritime Law.

He is married to Mary K. Mielke, an American citizen and professional educator. They have three children from their marriage: Lucas Manuel, Timothy William, and Kathleen Julia, all of whom are professionals.
