Bio – Jamie Patel

Jamie Patel, AICP, MBA – North Texas Mobility Planning Leader

Jamie is a multimodal transportation planner with over 18 years of experience working with local municipalities, airports, and transit agencies across Texas. Jamie’s expertise includes strategic planning, capital improvement program implementation and management, transit service planning, airport landside planning, and multimodal planning.

She has been able to witness firsthand how transportation (or the lack of) can impact the quality of life and limit the opportunities available, especially to individuals with disabilities, seniors, and those with low-income. Her on-the-ground experience serving her community and coordinating all modes of transportation has made her keenly aware of the benefits that functional transportation infrastructure can bring to an area in terms of safety, comfort, efficiency, equity, and economic growth.

Jamie holds an MBA and BA from the University of Texas, is a certified planner with the American Planning Association, and a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives. She served 5 years as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Irving, the second largest city in Dallas County. She also dedicates her time and energy to Chetna, a non-profit organization focused on providing domestic violence support services to South Asian women. Her favorite role of all is being a mom of two precious girls.
